 About Daily Exegesis

Welcome to Daily Exegesis, a digital labor of love and a work in progress dedicated to the continuous, prayerful study of sacred scripture.  I use both the lens of Orthodox Christian tradition, as well as ongoing personal experience of my faith to write my blog.

History and Legacy

Founded in 2009, Daily Exegesis has served as an independent online archive for continuous daily scripture commentary for nearly two decades. What began as a personal commitment to engaging with the daily lectionary has grown into a vast, multi-year library of reflections. In a rapidly changing digital landscape, this space remains a steady, anchored repository of original writing, tracking the daily reading cycle year after year.

Theological Foundation

The scriptural citations and historical commentary highlights featured in these posts are most frequently drawn from the annotations of the Orthodox Study Bible (OSB), as well as the enduring wisdom of the Church Fathers—including St. John Chrysostom, St. Cyril of Alexandria, St. Ambrose of Milan, and St. Athanasius the Great.

This blog approaches scripture not as a dry academic text, but as a living pharmacy for the human heart, echoing the words of St. Gregory of Narek: "powerful salves for incurable wounds, effective medicines for invisible pains."

"For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart" (Hebrews 4:12)
